About BarksBurg Dogs

BarksBurg Dogs is a dog training business that is owned and operated by Stephanie O'Connell Wilcke, CPDT-KA.  She provides group obedience classes, private training sessions and behavior modification assistance.  She has been working in the dog training industry since 2011 and has been a professional dog trainer in the area since 2014.  Stephanie began her career with a two year apprenticeship program in Arlington, VA that taught the latest techniques in positive reinforcement training, including clicker training and TAGTeach.  After 3 years of learning and practice, Stephanie became a certified professional dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.  She teaches group classes at Flying Fur! and offers private in-home training in the Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and New River Valley area.

Stephanie has 5 dogs.  Riley is a small mixed breed.  Casey is a Treeing Walker Coonhound (pictured to the right).  Wizard is an Aussiedoodle.  Teddy is a Bernedoodle.  Gizmo is a Chinese Crested Powderpuff.

BarksBurg Dogs teaches clicker training and uses the latest science of positive reinforcement. We NEVER train with choke chains, prong collars, electronic collars and other devices that may hurt your dog.  We strive to build the bond between you and your dog and foster a relationship of trust and mutual understanding.
